Italy will host Spain in a glamour friendly at the start of next season, the Italian federation (FIGC) have confirmed.
Spain, the reigning world and European champions, will face the 2006 World Cup winners in Bari on August 10.
A statement on the Italian federation's official website www.figc.it read: "The friendly match between the national team coached by Cesare Prandelli and world champions Spain will be played in Bari, at the San Nicola stadium on Wednesday, August 10.
"The decision was made by the FIGC president Giancarlo Abete after talks with the Bari president, Vincenzo Matarrese."
The last meeting between the sides came in the Euro 2008 quarter-finals, when Spain beat Italy on penalties in Vienna en route to winning the title.
