New Lazio striker Miroslav Klose believes his club can battle for the league title next season.
The Germany international became Lazio's first summer reinforcement.
The 33-year-old joined the Roman outfit as a free agent and put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Serie A outfit yesterday.
"Lazio is a very interesting team," said Klose on the club's official website, www.ssslazio.it.
"They have a mix of young players and experienced ones.
"I think it will be an interesting campaign and I am certain we will be able to battle for the scudetto."
The former Werder Bremen forward endured a disappointing campaign for Bayern Munich in 2010/11, scoring just one goal in 20 Bundesliga appearances.
After four seasons with the German giants, Klose is eager to show his worth in Italy's top flight.
"I am very happy with this new adventure," he said."I cannot wait to make my debut in Serie A.
"I will try to do my best for Lazio, who have a great team and very strong players."
Lazio narrowly missed out on Champions League football after a fifth-place finish in Serie A and will compete in the Europa League.
